Climate Change

Following a whole school assembly by STEM Ambassador Paula McMahon, each class pledged to make small changes to help save the planet. Over the year, we logged the number of times we carried out our pledges then created graphs to display our findings. We were amazed to see the impact of our small changes!

The progression of skills across the school is evident in our graphs.

If you were an Engineer ...

We spent a day with Primary Engineer and The National Grid, creating a video to promote the world of engineering and give children an understanding of roles within this field.

The whole school entered the competition If you were an Engineer ... raising aspirations and bringing engineering into the classroom. Children interviewed engineers from The National Grid and Uniper to help inspire them to create their own design of a solution to a real-world problem.

Competition Winners!

During Science Week, we ran a competition for children to guess the job of some scientists, based on three items they showed and talked about. Congratulations to the winning children who worked out what these scientists do.

We also ran a 'Finding Plants' competition for all the family. Plants can definitely be found growing in the strangest of places!

Science Club

Congratulations to our young scientists who have worked really hard to achieve their Superstar Crest award!
